THE PRICE RANGE FOR A TAKACHENEY PORTRAIT:

To answer your first question:  Available upon request for 1 to three persons and one pet.  A larger family will be priced on request, photo required. Price does not include shipping;  taxes or special handling.

Paintings are in oil with acrylic under painting. On the best
Museum quality canvas available.   Canvas's stretched on Museum quality stretchers with reinforcements and a minimum of 1.5" deep (framing may not be required) but recommended.  After all, a portrait should be the focal point of it's room.  It should be displayed and cared for like the heirloom it is to become. 

Clients chose a TAKACHENEY Portrait because they know it will reflect the style and color pallet ability of an Award Winning Artist.  The Client may suggest a favorite pose and 'costume' understanding that this is first of all an ART piece, the final decision about pose and 'costume' will be at the discretion of TAKACHENEY who will discuss her choice with the client, of course.   Poses that are not natural or in keeping with the personality of the subject make for horrible portraits and are embarrassing.  Unless you are Royalty, TAKECHENEY prefers that your 'costume' is very simple, the emphasis should be on your body language, your eyes, hands, expression.   

Now for the difficult part:  TAKACHENEY will interview each client and subject if a different person.  This interview can be via telephone, SKYPE, or on rare occasions in person.

All interviews are by appointment only.   Client is expected to have numerous shots of the subject(s) ready at this interview, however, an interview is not a commitment that the person or subject will be accepted for a painting. 

Having been told for the past several decades that her paintings will continue to increase in value and her great -great grand children will know the value of her work,  TAKACHENEY refuses to make certain types of people "famous" past their lifetime.

State what the number of
subjects - ages. You may be asked to attach any simple photo(s) you may have after initial contact.

You will receive a response within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) 

A DEPOSIT of 25% of the agreed upon price for the portrait will be sent to the Artist upon Subject acceptance.
A fee of 25% will be sent after 3 weeks during the process. 
When painting is completed and:
IF work can be picked up and delivered by special courrier, the balance of 50% will be due before portrait leaves the studio.   Work can be  taken to framer.  Client will receive a full color photo of the portrait at some point before it leaves Studio.  Great care is taken to make sure that the painting has properly dried before packing and shipping. 

CLIENT OWNERSHIP of PORTRAIT:  
Client (Purchaser/Contractor) owns rights to their Original painting (the portrait) and they may have copies created for personal use but not for resale, However:  
    TAKACHENEY, her heirs and/or assigns will retain the right to publish (without naming subject) or sell copies of the painting, publish it in print media, use in film media without the involvement of the Client and/or Subject.
     It is understood that the work created is a work of Art and therefore not subject to solely personal domain rights.  After all, the more desired an art piece becomes, the more valuable the Original.  

TAKACHENEY will ask if you have read and understood this section and will agree to it in writing before she pursues any arrangement to accept a subject.    C 2024 TAKACHENEY
